daily stuff

Stepping outside to fetch the paper this morning brought me face to face with what portends to be a rather sticky and hot day. It's also smack in the middle of Labor Day Weekend which doesn't seem like such a big deal anymore. When I was teaching, it meant the end of creating and selling at art shows and the beginning another year of up every weekday and off to attempt inspiring the young huddled masses. :-) Now it's just another weekend, albeit a 3-day one, where folks celebrate summer's last hurrah. I can soon look forward to tucking away the lawnmower and checking out the operation of the snow blower. As Joni said, "And the seasons they go round and round and the painted ponies go up and down. We're captive on the carousel of time..." Wow! where'd that come from? " :-) Just sitting here, the newspaper's still folded and flopped on the floor next to me. Do I really want to read it? One cat's cleaning it's butt on top of "her" blanket on the back of the sofa and the other cat has himself draped over the edge of the table next to my chair. The rest of the household is still somewhere off in lala land... well, it's Sunday, so why not? I've run through my morning exercise routine (upped the rep count again today) but am putting off breakfast till the others are up then I'll probably cook up the usual egg sandwiches for us. Somehow or other this became a Sunday tradition a few months ago. I don't mind the cooking but I'm thinking it might be time for a change of menu. We'll see... maybe next Sunday. Pancakes and sausage would be nice but I'm not about to run out to the store for the fixings now. Table cat has jumped down and relocated to a sunny spot on the carpet. They do take their pleasure seriously. I know this entry has run on into a stream of consciousness, interior monologue, but it's drawing to a close soon, I hear stirring from the bedroom. I'm off to don my chef's hat and start getting the "real" day started. You all have a good one.

thank you for sharing a slice of your morning..nice to have a peek.

Sounds like a relaxed start into the day, nice. Thanks, have a good one too!

Egg sandwiches sound great! My dad used to make the best egg sandwiches. I make them sometime, but they never taste as good as his.... he was much more liberal with the salt when I was little than I am now :)

Yup! fried egg with a slice of cheese on a toasted English muffin... yum.
