Wendy and I finally got around to trying out a scone shop that opened in the neighborhood some time ago. At first it was just a small pastry shop but recently expanded to include delicious quiche (with a variety of fillings) to the menu. The scones really are the best I've ever had and this includes the yummy ones I used to get at a small shop when I was in college. The decor is supposed to be reminiscent of a London tea shop (I think). Anyway, it's quite nice with soft agreeable music in the background. We WILL be going back... again and again. Can't believe it took us so long to try it out.

Gosh, I LOVE scones! I'm happy that you've found the place where they cook it so well.
Wendy looks beautiful on the photo!

Thanks, Victoria, Wendy will be pleased with your comment. :-) And yes, scones really are a treat.

Scones are my favorite baked good! I wish I had a bakery around here that specialized in scones (but maybe it's maybe I don't)

I know what you mean; if they were readily available (like a supply in the cupboard) I'd surely be adding poundage. :-)

Aw, I love a tea house excursion!

I'm generally a coffee drinker (and they do serve coffee!) but it seemed somehow disrespectful to have coffee there. hahaha The pot of tea was quite good.

I don't drink coffee at all. Once in a very vast while I will indulge in a demitasse of Ethiopian coffee when our dining with friends, if the establishment does the whole ritual, but otherwise its tea all the way! I especially enjoy attending a high tea. It's so positively civilized!!!

What sort of tea did you have? The served loose leaf, I hope!

PS - Wendy looks lovely!

Thank you, Lola. They had a variety of teas but not being in the know, I elected for their "everyday" black blend. Arrived in a pot and I'm only guessing it was from loose tea. Anyway, it was quite good as is with no additives like honey, sugar, lemon, milk...

yum! looks great, both wendy and the shop!
i bake a good scone.

Thanks, Ellen, perhaps when you open your tea room, W & I'll stop in. LOL

It looks like a neat place and sounds delicious!
