newly framed piece

so here it is:

the matted and framed art work by Linda lefemme a pierced/cut paper design -- if you don't care for the mat or background colors or the red on the frame, blame me, not her -- photoed without glass in the frame to avoid the glare problem, but glass will be installed as soon as the hardware store opens so I can buy the glass

kind of a grey day here today, but if it rains, I won't have to water the growies -- not looking forward to the next water bill -- OTOH if it rains, I won't be able to sit outside and watch them grow...I do have the sense to come in when it rains...well, usually...

breakfast now, then off to the hardware store -- have a nice Monday (if there is such a thing; for me, all days are the same :)

Very nice, but sheez, where is the beefcake shots?

heh! can't do that too often, Wendy'll think I'm pimpin' m'self :)
there are, however, some more pics here:

thanks, Tam -- always amazing to me how people can do such intricate work -- since it's been almost a year ago, I can't even remember what I traded her for it :)

Ooh, that's so pretty, only, I can't help but wonder what it would look like with an very, very, very dark purple background and a lillac matte. (I am an ass.)

It has such a peaceful, free feeling and I love the natural wood in the frame and the red really helps focus your (well, "my" really) eyes on the piece as a whole like those paintings of infinite hallways where you can't help but look to see how far it goes.

Good job!

thanks squixer, and you are not an ass -- I appreciate your input

I always have trouble picking mat colors -- I keep about a dozen sheets on hand and seldom find just 'the right' color -- but holy shit, how many 30x40 sheets can ya store? -- yeah, I know they're flat and take up a lot less room than my other crap...

thanks also for the comment on the red -- that's a new dimension for me in framing, adding color, but I thought it'd work well here

Oh, I'm an ass, just maybe not for that. ;)

OMG all I can think of now is: lascivious
maybe I need to go find some dinner :) -- just finished a new jewelry project -- pics to follow at 11:00 news :)

thanks Velvet, the hard part was her cutting -- all I did was throw together some pieces of wood -- but it does add a new dimension to our growing art collection -- doesn't that sound so...what?...I dunno...pompous? heh! I appreciate good (in my opinion, and what else counts?) art and finally decided I might as well start collecting before I'm too 'old timers' to appreciate it :)
