good morning lbj

..yes i gave into the impulse--why would his spirit care, he was always a parody of himself anyway, too bad he didn't stick to domestic issues--gawd, what a wasted collection or life and times--i scare myself a little when thoughts like that pop into my head, uninvited--i wonder what significance it can have, is it a punchline to a dream i don't recall having--is there someway i can carry a recording device in my dreams, something that will help me recall enough of the details that i can then piece things together again, even a dreamversion note pad--i'm going to concentrate on notetaking when i next prepare for sleep--laugh, go ahead--it's very frustrating to be unable to relive dreams especially when you know they must be there somewhere, hiding just out of reach--if it was just one of those fucked up dream/nightmares like lbj running around in a loin cloth chasing the nations young men with a big stick and yelling yi-ha get along little buckaroos, go out there and kill for the greater glory of some fucked up theory about checkers or something, well, no loss forgetting that--but if it's a dream worth saving, of a lover and love and crying out to the stars when the emotion is so sweet and wave after wave is lapping at your feet and looking all the way to the horizon, your love and you don't see a cloud in the sky, well that just might be worth remembering into the waking hours--so yeah, i've got to start trying to implement this notebook device...

but in the meantime, happy last friday of june all you grand and glorious lj folks--may you all have some special wish come true this weekend and remember that every time you smile, your body releases happy chemicals that make you feel better--notice the next time you see someone with a big shit-eatin' grin draped all over their face, that person is taking an active part in the 'feeling great' part of their life at that moment ;-) -- don't you want to feel good too?

I keep a dream notebook! It's really interesting to look back on the contents of the sleeping brain. I don't have many dreams that I remember during that first few seconds of waking though, and the ones I do remember tend to be repetitive. I also keep a notebook for ideas and problem solving. Oddly I get answers to questions and problems when I'm in that limbo state between awake and asleep. I don't know why that is, maybe the subconscious kicks in during that time and without all the crap that clouds our brain when we are awake, preventing the thought processes from functioning at 100% :-)

Yup, I want to feel good *HUGE SMILE"*

Have a great 'last Friday of June' :-)

state between awake and asleep

yes, i've noticed that same phenomenon which occurs at change of state -- maybe the 2 halves of the brain sharing power for a brief second -- how's your *HUGE SMILE"* working ;)

Re: state between awake and asleep

I think it's been proven that we use a tiny bit of the old grey matter compared to the potential that is there. I firmly believe there's untapped ability to achieve gifts such as telepathy for instance. Now wouldn't that be somethin'? :-) I also have had thoughts on why some people seem to have the ability to have premonitions/feel presences/see ghosts. I wonder if their brains have moved to a higher level of usage in an area that other people don't use, thus enabling them to 'home in' on some unseen level of existence. Don't get me started on this, it's a favourite subject!

Re: state between awake and asleep

"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy." will s.

yes, and who's to deny now what may yet be discovered at some future time--who would have believed that a hairless 2-legged brute could have control over the power of fire or their descendents communicate with another of their kind on the other side of the world :) -- just boggles, doesn't it?

Re: state between awake and asleep

I agree. There are things we can't begin to imagine just waiting to be discovered in the fullness of time. I'm always quite impressed with science fiction writers, as they have an imagination that produces ideas which may well turn out to be in the future. *Beam me up Scottie* ;-)

Hi Ed. I feel very touched by this plea ..
I hear you.

yes, thanks colette; it is frustrating to almost be able to grasp something you're sure is there but juuuuust out of reach, huh?

This reminds me how maybe we might receive info from a way higher dimension while we sleep & the human ego & limited viewpoint is surrendered. Yet we experience It!

Then we wake to a body with a human brain & to a denser dimension with memories of something so exquisite! Mmm yeh.

(Wasn't Checkers Nixon's dog?)

Wow. Feet being lapped, huh? I could get into that.

Frankly, I find it seriously disturbing that you are dreaming of LBJ in a loin-cloth. At least picture some healthy broad in a Frederick's ensemble, huh?

This rant brought to you by wEnDy on the road...

road tripper connects...

..such a miracle of modern science it is :) and so delightful too!

and yes, checkers was indeed nixon's dog back in his early days as a presidential wanna be

foot lappin' does seem to conjure up more images than just waves on the shore and i'm sure would be a welcome relief to the tired feet of one just back from traipsing around some silly ol' campus following a burned out ra who is pissed cause s/he is stuck in horrible ol' (name of town) for the summer since hir parents disowned hir for shacking up with a circus midget and 3 horny dogs during last semester....but i think i've drifted a little off topic--perhaps due to your faulty belief that i claimed to be dreaming of lbj, when i was merely using that scenario as an illustration of a nasty old dream while one would much rather have dreams of lovers and lapping (waves) and consensual acts to recall on waking :-P

Re: road tripper connects...

Remember when he didn't run for re-election because they blackmailed him since Ladybird's family oil interests were the REAL reason we were escalating the war over there? Yeah, I marched against the war, too.

Now, back to the matters at hand. Er--foot?

Big Rapids is where we were. Jeez, sounds like water there too, huh?

As in lapping and waves, do tell; what pretty pictures are you conjuring, sir?

perhaps some visual aids, or a "hands-on" demo would help get the picture across ;-)

Re: lapping and waves

As Rose said to Jack in Titanic: "Put your hands on me, Jack."

And, I never ONCE her her say: "Jack--off!"

So. There ya go.

Re: lapping and waves

a woman who knew her own mind, even as she went down with the ship

Re: lapping and waves

Yeah, well, I think she went down on Jack first...

And, for the record, I think that was the most romantic part of the whole flick. It was as breath-taking to watch as it was in concept.

*sigh and gasp*

Re: lapping and waves

hmmmph...i don't remember, was there romance in that movie??

down on jack with the ship, you think? come on jack, there's not much time...

*gasp and gurgle* :-P

Re: lapping and waves

Yeah, well, the chemistry was weird between Kate and Leo, despite the romantic underpinnings of the plot. (Heh--I said underpinnings...)

I kept thinking while watching, if an artist was as hot for me and I for him as these characters allegedly were, there'd be some definite bodily fluids mixed in with the charcoals used in drawing her portrait.

How'd they manage to keep their hands off each other? I'd be fucking like a rabbit...

..are they little devices pressed into use when a bra strap snaps or one of the panty thongs breaks?

Good God--I HOPE not.

Always has her underpinnings in perfect "order", thanks,
satin and lacely yours

*smiles with sense of relief*

Loved reading this post....wish we could have dream camcorders. LOL Good last friday night of June to you too! :-)

thanks vinnie, and YES! dreamcorders, the very thing :)

Why do you always smile?...I always smile, to make them wonder what i'm so happy about *evil grin*

but if it's a dream worth saving, of a lover and love and crying out to the stars when the emotion is so sweet and wave after wave is lapping at your feet and looking all the way to the horizon, your love and you don't see a cloud in the sky, well that just might be worth remembering into the waking hours

i don't dream, i want a dream like above *sigh*
i don't fall into the level of sleep that produces dreams
i do fall into the level that produces nightmares
i have experienced terrifing nightmares

i lov to hear about others and their dreams
maybe that's why i daydream so much...or write...to make up for the loss of dreams =/

Re: Why do you always smile?...I always smile, to make them wonder what i'm so happy about *evil gri

i do dream, 'cause i have rememabered some but so few! now if there were some way to implement vinnie's dreamcorder (see above), now wouldn't that just be the "cat's meow" -- like you, i am also a daydreamer...sigh

Re: Why do you always smile?...I always smile, to make them wonder what i'm so happy about *evil gri

yeah, that is a HOT idea...except all my tapes would end up blank *pouts* *hehe*

ooooo to be a daydreamer...a writer...a creator...*sigh* is right! a beautiful long *sigh*

Keep the notepad by your nightstand. Amazing the poems and lines that will come to you at 2 AM... just jotting a couple words will help you recall the entire thought... same with dreams. I began that about 4 years ago. Sometimes I will go to bed and leave the "Word" program open on my computer - so that I can just sit down and type something quickly - if I get up for a glass of water or to go to the bathroom... if it is "there" for me to recall. :) Those are real and relaxed - unprepared thoughts and expressions. Nice.

..you are right, maralena, i should have a pad handy; i have in fact tried but with such poor results that i soon give up--maybe i'll give it another go...
