Look at your LJ "interests" list. If you have fewer than 50 interests, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five interests, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five interests, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much.

alternative energy sources--well, I've always been there but it didn't become so important 'til the MA electric Co wanted to charge me $16,000 for the privilege of selling me electricity
blues--the blues are the story of life
chris smither--singer song writer...if you don't know him, find out!
dave brubeck--pssh ... what can you say?
food--don't we all love it to one degree or another?
guthrie--woody or arlo? ... both
kiln--how the hell else would I fire things?
norah jones--do you think she was influenced by her dad's music? sure hard to tell
scavenging--dive in that dumpster! treasures there
taj mahal--I don't want to pay the price of concert tickets anymore but for a chance to hear taj live...maybe I would
vintage days--blue skies, white puffy clouds, low humidity, warm temps...a day we can store away in our memory to go back and visit whenever we want...sigh...
wood-working--working in any material has it's rewards but wood has been around a looooong time...it doesn't last forever but it's so warm and soft and textural...sexual?

I really MUST do this, but not tonight!

Tomorrow. I will do it, tomorrow. :)

OK
I'm waiting :)
but with all the work of the new house, I can understand you putting some things on hold

Wouldn't say these were the BEST interests to represent me... but I followed the rules as stated:  more than 75 every 10th interest.... so here's my sampling:

Anne of Green Gables - Always loved this book series since childhood.  Alot of views in life I'm not ashamed to admit I've been influenced by and borrowed from this book series.  My favorite Anne-isms:  1) always in search of "kindred spirits" 2) can find the romance in just about anything 3) wouldn't want a life without sadness and tears... if you don't have these you can't ever appreciate true happiness.

Billie Holiday - a favorite singer of the 1940's

Clarinet - I played this instrument in Jr. High and High School.  With my love of classical music and jazz... the clarinet is beautiful instrument to pick out in these types of music.

Disney - Disney, baby... all the way.... no Knott's Berry Farm like the "po' folks"!!!  *wink*

Flying Down To Rio - (1933) Favorite Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire movie... in fact one of my top 5 favorite movies off all time!

History - I love history.... any kind... in everyday life.... in the most mundane things.  History is very important to me being a nostalgia freak and all.

Jane Powell - a movie actress of the late 1940's and 50's.  Best remembered in her role as "Milly" in "Seven Brides For Seven Brothers" (1954)

La Boheme - a favorite opera.... love opera!

Lucille Ball - who doesn't love "I Love Lucy"?????

Mozart - favorite classical music composer.... among my favorites are his "Marriage of Figaro"

Opera - love opera.... I find it to be the MOST sensual music ever..... if you have never gone to a live opera..... you must.  The singing is so intense.... *wink*

Rita Hayworth - 1940's actress and pin up girl to many a  WWII soldier.  Only way to describe Rita is HAWT!

Silent Movies - like silent movies.... but my favored era of cinema is definitely the late 1920's 30's and 40's

Tim McGraw - 1st country music artist I was ever exposed to.... since then I've been hooked!

Vintage Posters - I LOVE LOVE LOVE posters of images from 1910's through 1940's:  WWI, WWII, pin-ups, wine and liqour... etc....

this was fun, no?
I see we both have an interest in old things -- yeah the poster art from the early 1900s really great, 'specially the work by Toulouse-Lautrec and other denizens of the Montmartre hangouts -- don't think I've ever seen more enticing poster work than the dance hall series of T-L

hmmm... mine are almost entirely bands. however, blues came up for me too!

hmmmm yourownselfbaby -- we all get da blues

but . . . since you mentioned it . . . and because I've seen Taj Mahal . . . AND have worked for a shipwright . . . . I'm gonna take this meme.

food & vintage days rule!

can't quite figure out how this post came about -- something from last fall??
but, anyway, thanks for the look back in time
and yeah food (well some food ;) and vintage days do rule
